This bag is knitted out of “plarn,” which is yarn made from plastic shopping bags. I used a technique I saw on “Knit and Crochet Now” TV show to cut the bag into one long spiral strip about 1 to 1-1/2 inches wide and 7 yards long. The strips are joined with square knots. If you want thicker yarn, cut the bag into 1-1/2″ loops and loop the ends together.
Have fun recycling and making something that can make many trips to the market.
